SANTA MONICA, Calif. Nature's Wild Berry, the freeze-dried miracle berry brand that appeared on Shark Tank, is now available at Uncommon Goods.
Uncommon Goods carries the Travel Jar as Flavor-Changing Taste Adventure Berries in a resealable aluminum tin.
One berry, three changes
Miracle berries contain miraculin, a glycoprotein that binds to the sweet receptors on the tongue. While it is bound, taste shifts three ways. Sour turns sweet so lemon water tastes like lemonade. Bitterness is curbed so apple cider vinegar is more like apple cider than vinegar. Savory food tastes richer, taking nearly every dinner to the next level. With two pieces at the same time the effect lasts 20 to 40 minutes and wears off on its own.
Grapefruit, kombucha and pickles turn sweet. Green juice tastes like candy. Vegan cheese tastes richer.
How to use it
Start by tasting something sour. Then take two pieces, which is one whole berry. Hold them in your mouth for 5 seconds, then chew and spread the pulp over your whole tongue for a full 30 seconds. Swallow and taste again.
Ten years in
Nature's Wild Berry has spent a decade introducing people to the miracle berry. Its Shark Tank episode from season 14 re-airs on CNBC and streams on Hulu and Disney+.
"The best part has always been trying new things," said Hank Watt, founder of Nature's Wild Berry. "People bite into a lemon expecting to wince and they laugh instead. But then they see how it can work for them in their own way. It makes a good gift because reactions are more fun with someone else at the table."
The product
Each Travel Jar holds 30 pieces, which is 15 whole freeze-dried miracle berries cut in half. It is shelf stable at room temperature and contains no allergens. The berries are Non-GMO Project Verified and Non-UPF Verified by WISEcode. The company holds U.S. Patent No. 12,256,750 for its method of preserving miracle berries.
