Cazcanes Debuts High Proof Reposado Single Barrels Aged in First of Their Kind Casks

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 29, 2026) – Cazcanes Tequila today announced the launch of its Experimental Single Barrel series with two high proof expressions: Cazcanes Reposado No. 9 Mirabelle Eau de Vie Single Barrel and Cazcanes Reposado No. 9 Apricot Brandy Single Barrel. Each was aged in barrels that previously held their namesake stone fruit spirits. The limited releases explore new dimensions of flavor, uniting agriculture, craftsmanship and collectability, and mark the official beginning of the brand’s experimental Single Barrel offer.

Cazcanes begins with hand-selected, certified organic Blue Weber agave, proprietary yeast and mineral-rich volcanic spring water sourced from Navichi Springs. Guided by a low-intervention philosophy and deep respect for raw ingredients, the brand’s minimalist methodology lets the agave’s original quality and character speak for itself. That same philosophy informs the new Single Barrel releases. Mirabelle plums and apricots, like agave, rely on careful cultivation, optimal ripeness and precise fermentation and distillation to reveal their full character. Aging Reposado No. 9 in casks previously used for these fruit spirits brings together the two agriculture-driven traditions while ensuring a complementary flavor profile.

Bottled at 100 proof, like every Cazcanes No. 9 release, each Single Barrel expression is a one-of-a-kind spirit with fewer than 300 bottles available. Each carries a gold medallion and Single Barrel tag identifying its barrel and bottle number, underscoring the unique and collectable nature of each release. Mirabelle Eau de Vie Single Barrel carries tasting notes of caramel, fig jam, butter, key lime pie and anise while Apricot Brandy Single Barrel boasts flavors of vanilla, banana, baked apple and sea salt.

Experimental Single Barrel Series

The two releases establish a broader Single Barrel series exploring how exceptional casks can add layered complexity that complements the character of the agave. Additional Single Barrel trials are already underway, with subsequent releases planned using similarly unexpected barrels. Fans and collectors will be able to find those barrels at select retailers, bars and restaurants across the US this fall/winter.
