Montecito's favorite can lands behind home plate, bringing sake to the menu for the first time

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2026) Ysidro Sake Spritz, the Montecito-born brand that turned one pink can into a California fixture, is headed to Petco Park. Beginning Tuesday, September 29, the brand's signature Grapefruit & Sea Salt Sake Spritz will be poured exclusively in the Blue Shield Home Plate Club, the private, all-inclusive club directly behind home plate.

A Ballpark Built on Local and Elevated

Petco Park has never been a hot dog and domestic lager kind of place. For more than a decade, the Padres and hospitality partner Delaware North have built their food and drink program around homegrown favorites, from Seaside Market's famous tri-tip to a Pizza Port beer brewed just for the ballpark.

The drink lineup has grown with its crowd too, with hard kombucha, canned cocktails, and a spritz cart now sitting alongside the IPAs. The premium clubs take it even further, with rotating menus that treat food and drink as part of the experience, not an afterthought.

The Missing Piece

For all its variety, Petco Park had never offered sake in a ready-to-drink format. Ysidro fills that gap as the ballpark's first sake spritz, taking a drink usually poured by the glass and making it easy to enjoy from first pitch to final out.

New to the menu does not mean out of place. Ysidro is made the same way the ballpark's favorites are. It's small batch, built on Junmai sake and California citrus, by founders who created the drink they wanted to drink themselves. Every can carries the same promise: gluten free, sulfite free, non-GMO, low sugar, and 6.5% ABV, in a slim 8.4 oz can. Bright and crisp, it's a drink that fits anywhere, whether that's a beach towel, a backyard, or a seat behind home plate.

For the founders, that shared approach is what made Petco Park the right fit. "The Padres have made it clear that local, quality products come first, and we're excited to be part of that," said Monica Epstein, Co-Founder and CEO of Ysidro. "It's great to find partners whose values line up so closely with ours. At Petco Park, the brands behind the food and drink are part of the show, and that's something we hope more venues follow."

Petco Park caps a big year for the brand, following a return to the Hollywood Bowl and the launch of its second flavor, Cara Cara Orange. With a 92% reorder rate across accounts, Ysidro tends to stay wherever it lands.

Built to Grow

Petco Park has a history of spotting the next big beverage names early. Cutwater Spirits opened its own bar at the ballpark in 2017 and poured its canned cocktails throughout the stands. Less than two years later, Anheuser-Busch acquired the company to lead its push into ready-to-drink cocktails, and today Cutwater's name is on two of the ballpark's private clubs. Ballast Point, a longtime ballpark staple, sold its brewing business to Constellation Brands for a reported $1 billion. The brands that win at Petco tend to be the ones that go on to win bigger.

Ysidro arrives with the same ingredients: a loyal following, a product that holds its standards as it grows, and real momentum statewide. As the premium ready-to-drink category matures, that is exactly what catches the attention of the biggest players in the beverage business.
