Beachwood Brewing & Catalina Island Conservancy Release “Foxy By Nature” IPA Celebrating the Catalina Island Fox

Beachwood Brewing & Distilling and the Catalina Island Conservancy are teaming up to celebrate one of California’s most unique conservation success stories with the release of Foxy By Nature, a limited-edition IPA brewed in honor of the Catalina Island fox.

The public is invited to celebrate the beer release during a family-friendly Foxtober event on Sunday, October 4, from 1–4 p.m. at Beachwood Brewing & Distilling, 3630 Atlantic Ave. in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach.

A portion of proceeds from every Foxy By Nature pint and 4-pack sold at Beachwood, will benefit the Catalina Island Conservancy and support island restoration, habitat protection and native wildlife across Catalina Island.

FOXY BY NATURE RELEASE EVENT

Sunday, October 4 | 1–4 p.m. Beachwood Brewing & Distilling, 3630 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, CA

The afternoon will bring the Catalina Island fox to life through interactive activities hosted by the Conservancy, including:

• Foxy Bingo — Themed bingo with prizes up for grabs.
• Interactive Fox Stations — Learn how the Conservancy monitors Catalina Island foxes in the wild and meet members of its conservation team.
• Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Fox — A playful activity for kids and adults.
• Raffle Giveaways — Enter for the chance to win Conservancy merchandise, Catalina Island experiences and more.
• Exclusive Foxy By Nature Merch — Join or upgrade Conservancy membership at the event and receive an exclusive co-branded T-shirt featuring Foxy By Nature artwork. 

Registration is not required, but RSVPs are encouraged to help organizers plan for attendance. Limited parking is available onsite. Seek parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome; alcohol purchase and consumption is limited to guests 21 and older.

A BEER BREWED FOR A FOX

Foxy By Nature was developed as a collaborative concept between Beachwood Brewing and the Catalina Island Conservancy, from the beer’s name and release timing to the story behind the collaboration. The release celebrates the Catalina Island fox and the remarkable conservation story surrounding its recovery.

From a brewing standpoint, the IPA features Limequat, a new hop blend from New Zealand. The hop brings bright, zesty lime character alongside tropical and subtle floral notes, adding a distinctive layer of complexity to the IPA.

Malt: Canadian Pilsner

Hops: Limequat, NZ Cascade, Krush Lupocore, Krush Cryo

6.7% ABV, 70 IBUs

BEER AS A PLATFORM FOR CONSERVATION

Beachwood has collaborated with nonprofit organizations in the past, including the Bolsa Chica Conservancy earlier this year. Collaborations like these allow the opportunity to use beer as a platform to share with people organizations doing meaningful work in the community and beyond.

There is an opportunity in bringing together two spaces that might not traditionally intersect—craft beer and conservation—and creating an experience where people can learn, connect and support a cause while enjoying a beer. For Beachwood, the collaboration with the Catalina Island Conservancy is another way to create those connections through something as approachable and social as beer.
