Pioneer of the chlorophyll category and America’s first bottled water to earn Clean Label Project certification brings plant-powered hydration to shoppers across Chicagoland.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Chlorophyll Water, a pioneer in the chlorophyll category, announces its availability at all 21 Pete’s Market locations, strengthening its Midwest retail presence and bringing its signature green water to more shoppers throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

The launch marks another milestone in Chlorophyll Water’s national expansion. With stores serving neighborhoods across Chicago and suburban communities including Oak Park, Orland Park, Wheaton and Tinley Park, Pete’s Fresh Market gives the brand a broader platform to introduce its chlorophyll-infused water to local shoppers.

The launch comes as the chlorophyll category attracts growing consumer interest. Industry forecasts cited by Chlorophyll Water project the chlorophyll extract market will grow at an 8% compound annual rate through 2030, approximately 56% faster than coconut water and 40% faster than U.S. bottled water, based on projected annual growth rates of 5.13% and 5.7%, respectively.

Consumer-trend data cited by the company also show chlorophyll’s popularity grew 100.4% year over year, compared with 19.3% for the broader category, approximately 5.2 times the growth rate. Chlorophyll Water sees this rising interest as an opportunity to connect consumer discovery with convenient, everyday access on grocery shelves.

Chlorophyll Water combines ultra-purified water with chlorophyll sourced from alfalfa and added vegan vitamins A, B12, C and D. The Non-GMO beverage features light lemon and spearmint flavors, offering a refreshing, ready-to-drink way to incorporate chlorophyll into a daily routine.

As the first bottled water in the United States to pass the strict requirements of Clean Label Project certification, Chlorophyll Water places independent third-party testing and ingredient transparency at the center of its brand. The certification involves screening for more than 90 contaminants, including heavy metals, pesticide residues and plasticizers. Chlorophyll Water most recently earned certification for the fourth consecutive year and makes laboratory results available on its website.

Sustainability is also central to the company’s mission. Chlorophyll Water uses bottles made from 100% recycled plastic with CleanFlake™ label technology. Through its partnership with rePurpose Global, each bottle sold supports the recovery of an equivalent ocean-bound plastic bottle. The company has also introduced 16 oz aluminum cans, expanding its packaging options alongside its existing bottle lineup.

Chlorophyll Water’s momentum has earned national media and industry recognition. The brand was featured on the cover of Beverage Industry magazine in “Nature’s Green Magic” and named “2026 Top Trending Brand” by Spate Market Research, an AI-powered consumer forecasting platform. It also ranked No. 9 among more than 90,000 brands on RangeMe’s “Top 50 Food & Beverage” list, highlighting its visibility on the retailer product-discovery platform.

Additional recognition includes being named an “Emerging Brand of the Year” finalist by the California Grocers Association, a “Beverage with Benefits” finalist in Startup CPG’s Shelfie Awards, and one of the “Ones to Watch” at The Beverage Forum.

“Getting into all 21 stores is the starting line,” added Levine. “What matters now is what happens after that first purchase, whether someone loves the taste, comes back for another bottle and recommends it to a friend. That’s how we want to build our business with Pete’s.”

Chlorophyll Water is now available at all 21 Pete’s Market locations. Visit Pete’s Fresh Market’s store directory to find a nearby location.
