(Phoenix, AZ) – Midi Bites, a grab-and-go, refrigerated plant-based protein snack, announced today that it is expanding nationally into Target stores across the country. As consumers move away from highly processed foods and look for clean, better-for-you options, especially as GLP-1s gain popularity, grocers are expanding their refrigerated sections to include more nutritious choices like Midi Bites.

Midi Bites come in four flavors — Almond, Chocolate, Peanut and Salted Cashew Crunch. All flavors are dairy-free, soy-free, vegan and made with organic ingredients, and the Chocolate flavor is made without nuts. Midi Bites are certified gluten-free and Non-GMO, and the company is a WBENC-certified women-owned business. Each resealable pouch of bite-sized snacks retails for $4.99.

When Midi Bites founder Majo Mansour became a mom, she noticed a pattern she was guilty of herself: parents who scrutinize every ingredient for their children and then eat whatever is left in the bag. Frustrated by the lack of simple, clean snacks with no artificial flavors or sweeteners, Mansour earned her holistic nutritionist certification and set out to make something better for everyone, not just kids: a snack made with ingredients you can pronounce that is nutritious and, most importantly, delicious. What surprised her was that the fewer ingredients she included, the better it tasted.

Mansour’s inspiration came from her mother’s butter cake, a fixture on the kitchen counter when she was growing up. “Nobody was reading a label on that cake. You trusted it because you knew who made it and what went into it,” says Mansour. “That’s the feeling I want people to have when they reach for Midi Bites, whether they’re packing a lunchbox, heading to the gym or grabbing a snack between meetings.”

Midi Bites contain no preservatives, which is why you’ll find them in the refrigerated section rather than the shelf-stable snack aisle. “We’d rather keep our snacks in the fridge than add preservatives just so they can sit on a shelf,” says Mansour.

What goes inside is just as simple: a short list of whole-food ingredients, including dates for natural sweetness, gluten-free oats, pea protein for plant-based protein, and chia and flax seeds for fiber and healthy fats. Each flavor then adds its own signature, such as sunflower seed butter and cacao in the Chocolate flavor, which is made without nuts, and quinoa crisps in the Salted Cashew Crunch.

Midi Bites enter Target after building a loyal consumer following at retailers including Whole Foods Markets across Arizona, and the Target launch brings Midi Bites to more than 400 stores nationwide.
