PRESS RELEASE posted by Oskar Blues Brewery
Sep. 10, 2026 at 9:49am (EDT)

(LONGMONT, CO) SEPTEMBER 8, 2026 - This month, Oskar Blues Brewery - the trailblazing craft brewery that created the original craft beer in a can - is bringing Deviant Dale’s Imperial IPA back from the beyond. The cult-favorite beer of 2017 returns for a limited time, delivering the bold, hop-forward flavor for which the Dale’s lineup is known.

Full-bodied and assertive, Deviant Dale’s opens with foreboding aromas of citrus, grapefruit rind and piney resin, which give way to a wicked, lingering finish, resulting in a beer that is just as big and brash as longtime fans remember.

“Maybe we got a little too weird for 2017, but we’re not afraid of weird at Oskar Blues,” says Aaron Baker, Brand Director at Oskar Blues Brewery. “Deviant Dale’s is a great IPA with a ton of personality - it’s big, it’s loud, it’s really flavorful - and we’re excited to have it back.”

Deviant Dale’s is joining the wider Dale’s family that includes the flagship Dale’s Pale Ale, Dale’s Light Lager, Double Dales IPA, Dale’s American IPA, Dale's Easy IPA and Designated Dale’s NA Pils.

Deviant Dale’s Imperial IPA will be nationally available through November 1 in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft. It is currently available on tap at the Oskar Blues Brewery taprooms in Brevard, NC and Longmont, CO.
