BUCHANAN, Mich. — July 2026 — Tabor Hill Winery today announced the release of two limited-production wines, Rosso di Lago and Blanc de Noir, crafted from estate-grown fruit to showcase the versatility of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA and the winery's dedication to quality and estate winemaking.
Representing two distinct expressions of Southwest Michigan terroir, the new releases span a Super Tuscan-inspired red blend and a rare still Blanc de Noir, highlighting the breadth of styles possible in the region.
Leading the release is Rosso di Lago, Italian for "Red of the Lake," a Super Tuscan-inspired blend of estate-grown Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. The wine was aged for 24 months in French and Hungarian oak before blending, creating a layered, elegant expression that pays homage to the wines of Tuscany while reflecting the character of Southwest Michigan. It offers notes of violet, red currant, blackberry, leather and savory herbs, supported by vibrant acidity and refined tannins.
Also making its debut is Blanc de Noir, an uncommon still white wine crafted primarily from estate-grown Pinot Noir. Produced through a gentle pressing process with minimal skin contact, the wine captures the character and complexity of Pinot Noir in an unexpected style. Bright and expressive, it features notes of passion fruit, white strawberry, grapefruit zest, orange blossom and apricot, complemented by refreshing acidity, delicate pastry notes and a rich, creamy texture.
While inspired by different winemaking traditions, both wines reflect Tabor Hill's belief that Michigan vineyards can produce wines with both authenticity and range. Crafted exclusively from estate-grown fruit, each release reflects a focus on site-driven winemaking and the character of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA.
"These wines showcase two distinct expressions of what the Lake Michigan Shore AVA can produce," said Sage Briggs, Winemaker at Tabor Hill Winery. "Rosso di Lago highlights the structure and aging potential our vineyards can achieve with classic European varieties, while Blanc de Noir offers a different expression of Pinot Noir that isn’t often seen in this style. Together, they reflect the balance of tradition, curiosity and craftsmanship that defines winemaking in Michigan."
Tabor Hill has helped shape Michigan's modern wine industry by producing distinctive wines that reflect the unique climate, soils and growing conditions of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA. These latest releases continue that legacy by highlighting the depth and diversity of wines the region can produce.
Rosso di Lago and Blanc de Noir are now available for tasting and purchase at Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant, as well as online, with shipping available to select states. Both wines are limited releases and available while supplies last.
