Fairfield, CA – Calbee’s Harvest Snaps is elevating its full lineup of baked veggie snacks — including Crunchy Loops — to avocado oil, marking a major milestone for the company’s flagship brand and reflecting consumers’ growing interest in simple, minimally processed non-seed oils. A pioneer in better-for-you snacking, Harvest Snaps are crafted with farm-picked green peas or red lentils as the first ingredient. The addition of avocado oil further strengthens this foundation and will be reflected on the front of pack, along with other core benefits, including real veggies, protein, and fiber.
Harvest Snaps’ brand research* found that 71% of consumers said the type of oil used in snacks is important when making purchasing decisions and avocado oil would significantly increase their purchase intent. Viewed as a badge of quality in packaged foods, avocado oil is naturally high in monounsaturated fats, lower in omega-6 fatty acids than canola oil, and widely perceived as a less processed alternative to traditional vegetable oils.
