Delta Vine, an Austin-based hemp beverage company, today announced its mission to redefine the growing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) beverage market with a wine-inspired alternative designed for consumers who love the ritual of wine but are looking for a different way to unwind.

Founded by Central Texas firefighter Alex Baumeister and his wife, Morgan, Delta Vine was created after the couple discovered a gap in the rapidly expanding THC beverage category.

While the market was filled with sparkling drinks, seltzers, and canned cocktails, wine drinkers looking for a more familiar experience had few options beyond traditional alcohol — unless they wanted to convince themselves another fruity can was “basically the same thing.”

By combining low-dose hemp-derived Delta-9 THC with cannabidiol (CBD), Delta Vine created a new kind of alcohol alternative built around the ritual of wine: pouring a drink, sharing a moment, and enjoying the experience without the alcohol, hangover, or next-day regret.

“We weren’t trying to create another THC drink — we were trying to create a better wine alternative,” said Alex Baumeister, Co-Founder of Delta Vine. “After trying nearly every hemp beverage we could find, we realized many products were variations of the same idea. We wanted something that felt more familiar — something that belonged next to a charcuterie board, at the dinner table, or during a quiet night at home.”

As more consumers embrace the sober-curious lifestyle and rethink their relationship with alcohol, demand for hemp-derived beverages continues to grow across the United States.

However, much of the category has focused on sparkling beverages and fruit-forward flavors. Delta Vine believes there is an opportunity to serve consumers who still want the sophistication, flavor, and experience of wine without necessarily reaching for a bottle.

Each 12-ounce can contains 2.5 milligrams of hemp-derived Delta-9 THC and 5 milligrams of CBD, creating a balanced, approachable experience designed for both first-time and experienced consumers.

Available in red and white wine-inspired varieties, Delta Vine was intentionally crafted for people who enjoy the ritual of wine but want an option that better fits their modern lifestyle.

Baumeister’s path to entrepreneurship is anything but typical. While continuing to serve full-time as a firefighter in Central Texas, he and Morgan built Delta Vine from the ground up — navigating product development, manufacturing, branding, ecommerce, and regulatory requirements in one of the fastest-moving beverage categories in the country.

Their journey reflects a broader shift in consumer preferences as more people look for lower-dose, sessionable alternatives that allow them to participate socially without automatically reaching for alcohol.

Unlike many emerging beverage brands competing within crowded THC categories, Delta Vine is focused on creating a distinct space: the THC wine alternative.

Rather than trying to compete with traditional cannabis beverages, the company is speaking directly to wine drinkers who may have never considered a hemp beverage before.

“As this category continues to evolve, consumers deserve more choices than another sparkling drink with a new flavor slapped on the label,” said Baumeister. “We believe there’s room for a beverage that feels familiar, approachable, and actually fits into the moments when people already enjoy wine.”

Delta Vine beverages are available online and ship to eligible states where hemp-derived THC beverages are permitted by law.

The company plans to continue expanding distribution while educating consumers about low-dose hemp beverages and helping establish the THC wine alternative category within the broader beverage industry.
