Bootstrapped Bay Area brand brings its high-protein ramen and dried ramen toppings to Target shelves, marking its largest retail expansion to date
SAN FRANCISCO — Oct. 2026 — Ramen Bae, the Bay Area food brand making better-for-you ramen products, today announced its launch in most Target stores across the U.S. Target guests can now find Ramen Bae's Protein Ramen, with up to 28 grams of protein per serving, alongside its line of Dried Ramen Toppings in the International Foods aisle at participating Target locations and on Target.com.
Ramen Bae was founded in 2023 by Jon Lam, who leads the company as CEO. Jon started the company because he always wanted more ramen toppings, but couldn’t find any to buy, so he made his own. The company's first product, the Classic Dried Ramen Toppings Seafood Mix, quickly went viral as ramen lovers on TikTok and Instagram discovered they wanted the same thing. Jon built a large social media following, and Ramen Bae has since served more than 400,000 customers. Jon then set out to make a delicious, better-for-you ramen to fuel active lifestyles, which became the Protein Ramen line launched in December 2025.
Protein Ramen delivers up to 28 grams of protein and about 300 calories per serving, with 6 grams of fat or fewer. The noodles are air-dried rather than fried. They contain pea protein, vital wheat gluten, and buckwheat flour at the perfect ratio to add protein while maintaining a chewy bite. Target guests will find Protein Ramen in 3-packs that are exclusive to Target, in four flavors: Chicken Soup, Original Stir Fry, Korean Spicy Chicken Stir Fry, and Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry.
Dried Ramen Toppings let ramen lovers upgrade any bowl in seconds, adding veggies, protein, fiber, and flavor without extra prep. Target will carry two topping mixes in resealable, 6-oz bags: Seafood and Spicy Garlic. Each bag contains 30+ servings.
The Target launch anchors a broader retail push for the brand. "When I was packing boxes for our very first order of seafood ramen toppings, I never imagined we'd end up on Target shelves," said Lam. "Our customers are always asking where they can find us in person. Target is the perfect partner to bring Ramen Bae to them nationwide, with its focus on emerging brands, wellness and trending flavors." Ramen Bae expects to be in roughly 2,500 retail doors by the end of 2026, with additional retail partners planned for 2027.
