Maria McManus Hired as SVP of Marketing to Lead Brand Building and Growth Across the Deep Brands Portfolio
UNION, N.J. (October 13, 2026) — Deep Brands, a leading portfolio of global flavors brands, today announced that its Deep Indian Kitchen brand has surpassed $100 million in annual sales, with $100.9 million in syndicated retail sales over the 52 weeks ending September 6, 2026.* Launched in 2019, Deep Indian Kitchen is now available in more than 26,000 stores nationwide. It is the #1 frozen Indian brand in America, accounting for over 50% of frozen Indian food sales in the U.S., and also ranks as the #1 fastest-selling natural frozen entrée brand.*
To accelerate its next phase of growth, Deep Brands has named Maria McManus its SVP of Marketing, a newly created and expanded role. McManus is returning to Deep Brands after previously having helped build and scale Deep Indian Kitchen for five years. In her role, she will oversee marketing and insights for Deep Indian Kitchen and Tem Toa, the frozen Thai brand Deep Brands launched in early 2026, as well as Deep Brands’ corporate marketing.
“Deep Indian Kitchen crossing $100 million in retail sales is a huge milestone for us as we build a leading family of frozen global flavors brands," said Kiernan Laughlin, General Manager of Deep Brands. “With experience spanning startups through scaled brands, Maria is uniquely qualified to not only take Deep Indian Kitchen’s marketing to the next level, but also shape Tem Toa’s strategy in its early stages, as she formerly did for Deep Indian Kitchen. We’re excited to have her back at such an important inflection point for Deep Brands, and look forward to her helping us bring premium, authentic Indian and Thai food to more households across the country.”
McManus most recently served as VP of Marketing & Growth at Táche, where she helped lead the brand’s national expansion and partnerships with Peet’s Coffee, Blank Street, and iota. Previously, she spent more than five years at Deep Indian Kitchen, helping grow the brand into one of the fastest-growing CPG brands in America and earn its recognition on Bain & Company’s Insurgent Brands list. Earlier in her career, she held marketing and brand management roles at Bai Brands, Unilever, and Target.
“Deep Indian Kitchen’s meteoric growth is a testament to the brand’s strong foundation, exceptional food and remarkable team,” said Maria McManus, SVP of Marketing at Deep Brands. “Having built the brand from its earliest days, returning at the $100 million milestone is especially meaningful. My career has taken me from growing emerging brands to scaling complex businesses and I look forward to putting that experience to work across Deep Brands. Together, we will take Deep Indian Kitchen and Tem Toa even further, bringing more of the world’s cuisines to tables across the U.S. I know firsthand what this team is capable of, and I’m excited about what we will accomplish together.”
