The Chicago-born super-low dose THC brew will reward the two most terrifying cannabis tales with a creepy two-night stay at a real haunted house stocked with Herb Light.
CHICAGO, IL, October 12, 2026 - Just in time for Halloween, Herb Light, the non-alcoholic super-low-dose cannabis brew, is launching a contest for anyone who’s ever gotten terrifyingly too high.
Introducing the “Herb Light ScareBnB.” A contest to win a two-night stay during the week of Halloween (from 10/29-10/31) at the infamous Roff Home in Watseka, Illinois, which has been reportedly haunted by paranormal activity since the late 1800s. Or at the allegedly haunted Hideaway House in Lockport, Illinois (from 10/30-11/1). While both homes might be filled with bone-chilling ghosts, the fridge will be stocked with ice cold Herb Light, with only 1mg of THC per can – which means the lucky winners won’t have to be afraid of getting too high on Halloween.
To enter the contest, Herb Light is asking people to submit their own personal cannabis horror stories by commenting on Herb Light's dedicated Instagram contest post with a short description of their story, or DM’ing it directly to @DrinkHerbLight. Whether it’s the classic tale of what happened after you ate edible number two because “the first one wasn’t working,” or the time you took a massive bong rip and mayhem ensued, no story is too terrifying to submit for a chance to win a Halloween experience of a lifetime. The Scare BnB is open for submissions via Herb Light’s Instagram through MIDNIGHT on October 23, 2026. Whatever your cannabis horror story, Herb Light might turn your worst trip into an actual trip.
The call for entries video includes a cast of Halloween monsters, each talking about a time they got scary stoned. From vampires eating gummies to werewolves hitting THC pens too hard, each scene pays homage to 1980s horror B-movies and Halloween-themed beer ads, positioning Herb Light as the super-low-dose THC alternative this Halloween.
It’s all part of Herb Light’s overall belief that cannabis shouldn’t be something to fear. With just 1mg of THC per can, Herb Light was created to deliver a little thrill without accidentally turning you into a horrifying monster who can’t stop humping the stairway bannister.
“Anyone who’s dabbled in cannabis has a few horror stories,” says Brian Siedband, Herb Light Co-Founder. “I personally have way too many - including one night I had to call (Herb Light Co-Founder) Gordy from a hotel room on a commercial shoot to help me pack luggage for an early morning flight - but thanks to Herb Light, people like me can enjoy the night without being afraid.”
Herb Light is now available at Binny's Beverage Depot, the Midwest's largest wine, spirits and beer superstore with 46 locations throughout Illinois. It’s also available at a variety of on and off-premise Chicago retailers including Foxtrot Market and Beer Temple, and on-premise locations including Sluggers Bar, Bub City and Joe’s, and online with shipping available to 28 states. It entered the marketplace earlier this summer, led by Quality Meats co-founders Gordy Sang and Brian Siedband along with business partner Jon Schiff, as an easy-to-drink, low-dose THC equivalent of a light beer. Its recent activations included the “Yacht Rock On a Yacht” Party on Lake Michigan, the “Double Play Koozie” collab with retired MLB star Ozzie Guillen, and the inaugural “Beer Pong Classic” at the legendary Chicago institution, Sluggers sports bar.
