Hood River Distillers (HRD), the largest and oldest importer, distiller, producer and marketer of distilled spirits in the Pacific Northwest, is proud to announce the promotion of Matthew Spellman to Vice President of Sales. In this role, Spellman will lead the company’s sales organization across its entire portfolio and all markets.

Spellman’s promotion follows a nearly 18-year career with HRD, which has included a variety of sales and leadership roles. He joined the company in 2008 as a Territory Manager in Portland and has served as On-Premise Key Accounts Manager in Washington, State Manager for Washington/Oregon/Alaska, Division Sales Manager for the West Region, and most recently Vice President of Regional Sales.

“Since joining Hood River Distillers, Matt has shown a keen understanding of our heritage, our brands, and—most importantly—the people who have contributed to our success, from our distributors to the bartenders and retailers who sell our brands,” said Russell Dodge, President. “As we continue to navigate an evolving consumer landscape, I can think of no better leader to take the helm of our commercial strategy.”

“I’ve always believed that strong sales organizations are built around good people, strong relationships, and a clear understanding of where the opportunities are,” said Spellman. “We have brands with a rich heritage of quality, and I’m excited to build on that foundation through focused strategy, strong execution, and close partnerships with our distributors and customers."
