Everett, WA. James Bay Distillers announced that their latest gin, GIN 46, has earned a double gold Best Gin award at the New York City "Fifty Best Gin" competition. GIN 46 is the company's first juniper-forward gin, tempered with Persian dried lime and Nepalese timut pepper: both of these botanicals provide a distinct and exciting lime note.
"This is our sixth product to earn double gold awards," said Ernest Troth, president of James Bay Distillers. "Our other spirits in that category include two more gins: James Bay Navy Gin (twice named "dangerously smooth"), Seattle Dry Gin (coriander forward with orange zest finish), as well as two of our Galloping Goose whisky series and our distinctive Finocchietto, using an original Italian recipe made with fennel and anise leading to an almond and vanilla finish. We are especially excited by the Best Gin medal and award."
GIN 46 was previously cited by Trendhunter for innovation in gin flavor development.
GIN 46 is so named from the company's "46 iterations of the recipe" to craft a gin that satisfies gin lovers who like a more London style of gin, and also appreciate the use of distinctive, exotic botanicals. GIN 46 is the first gin in the world to use both Persian dried lime and Nepalese timut peppers.
