Orange County-based real-food snack brand evolves from RJ Naturals to COZY Foods, marking the next chapter in its mission to bring clean, comforting food to families everywhere.

COZY, the Orange County-based real-food snack brand formerly known as RJ Naturals, has officially rebranded, marking a new chapter for the company founded by married co-founders Russell and Julia Menez.

Now available in more than 55 locations across California, including Mother's Market & Kitchen, the brand is expanding rapidly, with a national launch planned within the next two years. COZY was also recently selected to exhibit in the Innovation Section of the UNFI Central & West Holiday & Winter Selling Show, taking place July 14-15 in Las Vegas, one of just 10 brands chosen from hundreds of applicants.

RJ Naturals launched as a way to test whether there was real demand for a refrigerated, whole-food snack bar made without preservatives or seed oils, and to better understand who the brand's customers truly were. Nearly a year later, that answer is clear.

"RJ Naturals was our test phase," said co-founder Russell Menez. "It helped us prove there was real demand and gave us the chance to get to know our customers deeply. COZY is the next step. It embodies everything we've built and everything we're building toward. This isn't a pivot; it's an evolution."

The COZY name reflects the brand's core mission: Real Food Comfort. The company's flagship product, the COZY Butterbar, is the first refrigerated snack bar on the market made with grass-fed butter, crafted with just eight real ingredients, with no preservatives and no seed oils. The bar was first created by Julia Menez for Russell during his battle with stage four Hodgkin's lymphoma. After Russell entered remission, the couple began sharing the bars with their community, and what started as a personal solution grew into a mission-driven brand.

"COZY is about more than a name change," said co-founder Julia Menez. "It's about staying true to why we started this in the first place: real food that feels like comfort, made for families who want to trust what they're eating."

The Butterbars are currently offered in two flavors, Warm Cinnamon and Salted Matcha, and are designed to be stored refrigerated or frozen, giving retailers flexibility while preserving freshness and quality.

With momentum building across California and a national footprint on the horizon, COZY Foods is continuing to invest in production capacity, retail expansion, and its founder-led approach to building a real-food brand families can trust.
