Wise I Brewing Company

Wise I Brewing Company is a craft microbrewery located in Le Mars, Iowa, recognized by the Iowa Brewer's Guild as the 100th brewery in the state of Iowa and the first commercial microbrewery in Plymouth County. Founded out of a passion for craft beverages and a commitment to serving the local community, the brewery draws its name from multiple Iowa-rooted inspirations, including Ida B. Wise, a prominent Iowan figure connected to the temperance and prohibition movement, and the state of Iowa itself, symbolized by the golden 'I' in its logo. The company produces a range of flagship and seasonal craft beers, each with a carefully crafted backstory that ties back to Iowa history, culture, and local identity. Core offerings include The Laborer, a Vienna-Style Lager named as a nod to the blue-collar workers of the region; Wise Blonde, an American Blonde Ale brewed with locally sourced honey for a smooth, crisp finish; Waco Kid, a West Coast IPA inspired by Gene Wilder's Iowa ties; Ringo Kid, an India Pale Ale paying homage to Iowa native John Wayne; and Young Goodman Brown, a complex Brown Ale with notes of chocolate, caramel, and roasted nuts. Beyond its flagship lineup, the brewery also rotates seasonal and limited offerings, reflecting a dynamic and community-engaged brewing program. Operating as a small-batch, independently owned craft brewery, Wise I Brewing Company emphasizes local storytelling, regional ingredient sourcing where possible, and a taproom-centered experience in northwest Iowa.
