Walking Man Brewing is a craft brewery established in 1999 and located in Stevenson, Washington, nestled near the Bridge of the Gods in the Columbia River Gorge. Beginning operations in late 2000, the brewery quickly made its mark on the Northwest craft beer scene, earning medals in top beer competitions worldwide and becoming a recognized destination for beer enthusiasts and travelers exploring the Gorge region. The brewery operates a 17-barrel brewhouse equipped with a single infusion mash tun, a steam-fired kettle, and open fermenters. Notably, the team brews using traditional, hands-on methods — stirring every batch by hand — a reflection of their old-school brewing philosophy that prioritizes craftsmanship and consistency. Annual production sits at approximately 1,000 barrels per year. The brewery recently achieved a significant milestone as Tabatha Wiggins, a team member since 2014, finalized the purchase of the remaining ownership interest from founder Bob Craig, making Walking Man a solely woman-owned brewing operation. The dog-friendly beer garden, welcoming atmosphere, and live music programming through a Summer Music Series on Thursday evenings contribute to a community-oriented taproom culture.
