Van Henion Brewing is an independent, brewer-owned and operated craft brewery located in Bend, Oregon, founded in 2021. The company specializes in producing clean lagers and bright IPAs, with a particular emphasis on German-style beer traditions rooted in a passion for precise, traditional lager-making. The ownership and brewing team collectively brings over 65 years of professional brewing experience, underpinning a commitment to quality and consistency across every batch.

The brewery operates a fully manual 50-barrel, five-vessel brewhouse equipped with a steam-fired kettle — a setup that prioritizes hands-on craftsmanship over automation. The cellar features an extensive array of fermentation tanks ranging from 60 to 200 barrels in capacity, providing a total theoretical production capacity of up to 30,000 barrels per year. This deliberately oversized cellaring infrastructure serves a specific purpose: allowing ample lagering time without the pressure of rapid tank turnover. Every Van Henion lager spends a minimum of eight weeks in-tank before packaging, a notable commitment to traditional lagering timelines rarely seen at this scale in the craft segment.

All beers are packaged on-site using an inline Twin Monkey canning line, giving the brewery full control over the packaging process and ensuring freshness. A fully equipped on-site laboratory supports rigorous quality assurance protocols and proper yeast management, reflecting the team's professional brewing background and technical standards.

In addition to production, Van Henion operates a tasting room located at the brewery, offering a direct-to-consumer channel for brand engagement. The tasting room is designed with a cozy, character-driven aesthetic — featuring velvet wallpaper, cuckoo clocks, and leather seating — positioning the brand as approachable yet distinctive within the competitive Bend, Oregon craft beer market. A food truck is maintained on-site to complement the taproom experience.
