tine

TINE is Norway's largest dairy cooperative and one of the country's most prominent food and beverage manufacturers. Owned by Norwegian dairy farmers, the cooperative collects, processes, and distributes milk and a wide range of dairy-based products across Norway and internationally. The company operates an extensive network of production facilities, including plants such as the one at Frya, where it manufactures protein-rich dairy products to meet growing consumer demand. TINE's product portfolio spans fluid milk, cheese, butter, cream, yogurt, sour cream, and a variety of value-added dairy items. The cooperative is deeply integrated into the Norwegian agricultural supply chain, distributing earnings back to member milk farmers through annual supplementary payments — a structure that underlines its role as both a commercial enterprise and a pillar of Norwegian food security. TINE serves retail consumers, foodservice operators, and institutional customers such as schools. Its Skolelyst subscription program, targeted at school-aged children, delivers dairy and beverage products formulated without added sugar or artificial sweeteners, reflecting the company's focus on nutritionally sound offerings for younger demographics. The cooperative's product development capabilities are evidenced by its expanding line of high-protein dairy products, which has driven workforce growth at key manufacturing sites. TINE also engages in community sponsorship activities, including youth football programs (TINE Fotballskole), reinforcing its brand presence throughout Norwegian society. With a nationwide distribution network and a cooperative model that ties the company's success directly to the livelihoods of milk producers across the country, TINE plays a central role in Norway's dairy industry. The company's scale, vertical integration from farm to shelf, and continued investment in manufacturing capacity position it as a major supplier to both domestic retail and foodservice channels.
