Sawtelle Sake

Sawtelle Sake is a pioneering craft sake brewery located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2019, the company represents the first sake brewery to operate in Los Angeles since the 1950s. The brewery specializes in handcrafted sake production using time-honored brewing techniques combined with innovative approaches to express unique local flavors. Sawtelle Sake sources naturally organic rice from a family-run regenerative farm in California, emphasizing their commitment to local sourcing and sustainable practices. The company operates from their brewery facility in the Historic Fashion District of Downtown Los Angeles, with a tasting room located at 1836 Sawtelle Blvd. Their product line focuses on premium craft sake made with four simple ingredients: rice, water, yeast, and koji, without artificial flavors or colors. The brewery serves the growing craft beverage market in Southern California, targeting sake enthusiasts and consumers interested in locally-produced artisanal alcoholic beverages. Sawtelle Sake offers various sake varieties and operates a sake club for regular customers. The company positions itself as part of California's emerging craft sake movement, aiming to make sake more mainstream and accessible to Los Angeles consumers while maintaining traditional Japanese brewing standards.
