PUNT ROAD WINES

Punt Road Wines is an estate winery located in Coldstream, Victoria, Australia, situated within the renowned cool-climate Yarra Valley wine region. The winery operates across a 58-hectare vineyard with a viticultural history dating back to 1860, when pioneering vigneron Hubert de Castella first planted vines on the property. Today, the estate is owned and farmed by the third and fourth generations of the Napoleone family, who acquired the land in 1978 — a site that was originally the historic St. Hubert's vineyards and winery. The vines were replanted in 1987, restoring the estate's long viticultural heritage.

The company produces two primary wine ranges: Punt Road and Airlie Bank. These wines are crafted with a focus on expressing the unique character of the estate's terroir and capturing the nuances of each vintage season. The cool-climate conditions of the Yarra Valley are central to the style and quality of the wines produced, contributing to the region's reputation for elegant, structured varietals.

Punt Road Wines holds certification as a member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, reflecting a commitment to responsible vineyard and winery practices. The estate features a cellar door experience designed to welcome visitors, offering seated guided tastings of estate-grown wines. A newly developed facility sits at the heart of the estate, incorporating a barrel hall and spaces suited for hospitality, events, and wine education. Adjacent accommodation options, including Meletos and The Farmhouse, further position the estate as a destination venue within the Yarra Valley.

The winery also operates a wine club — the Punters Club — offering members benefits including free shipping and discounts on wine purchases, with flexible subscription options of 3, 6, or 12 bottles delivered to order. Direct-to-consumer online sales complement the cellar door and club channels.

The Napoleone family's agricultural roots in the Yarra Valley predate their winemaking operations. Following immigration from Abruzzo, Italy in 1926, founder Joseph Napoleone established the family's first Australian agricultural business, Red Rich Fruits, as orchardists in Wandin during the late 1940s. This multi-generational farming legacy informs the family's hands-on approach to viticulture and land stewardship at the Coldstream estate today.
