Peju Winery

PEJU is a family-owned estate winery located in Rutherford, Napa Valley, California. Founded with roots going back to a 1983 Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery has established itself as a classic Napa Valley producer focused on estate-grown varietals cultivated directly on its family property. Inside, the space functions as both a tasting facility and a retail environment, offering books on food, wine, and Napa Valley history, artwork, crystal decanters and wineglasses, wine accessories, local olive oils, and other specialty food and lifestyle products. The interior is illuminated by a massive antique stained glass window dating to 1906, lending the space significant historical character.

Beyond the tasting room, PEJU's Rutherford Estate is distinguished by its extensively cultivated gardens, maintained by co-founder Herta Peju. The grounds feature manicured lawns, mature perennial plantings including roses and dahlias, seasonal annuals, a man-made creek with a footbridge, a Koi pond, fountains, and meandering footpaths. Sculpture works by artists Welton Rotz and Philip Dizick are integrated throughout the garden landscape, reinforcing the winery's commitment to art as a core element of the visitor experience.
