ONX Wines

ONX Wines is a family-owned, estate-grown winery located in the Templeton Gap District of Paso Robles, California. Founded by the Olson family, who planted their first vines in 2005, the operation spans 127 acres of organically farmed vineyard land situated approximately eight miles from the Pacific Ocean. The estate's position within the Templeton Gap — a natural corridor that channels cool marine air inland — produces dramatic diurnal temperature swings of 40 to 50 degrees, slowing grape ripening, preserving natural acidity, and imparting structural complexity and longevity to the wines.

The ONX Estate Vineyard is one of the more diverse in the Paso Robles AVA, planted to 18 distinct varieties across limestone and clay loam soils with varying elevations and sun exposures. Varieties under cultivation include Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Picpoul Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, and others. Some original plantings date to 2005 and 2006, giving the estate mature vine stock across much of the property.

All farming is conducted organically, reflecting the family's commitment to soil health and site expression. The winemaking is led by Drew Nenow, a Cal Poly enology graduate who joined ONX as a harvest intern in 2015 and now oversees both vineyard farming and cellar operations. His dual role means the same individual making decisions about harvest timing also crafts the final wines, ensuring continuity from vine to bottle. Associate Winemaker Lauren Lange collaborates on production across the full range of releases.

The portfolio spans estate-grown single-varietal bottlings — including Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir — as well as blended wines that draw from the breadth of varieties on the estate. The winery operates a tasting room in Tin City, Paso Robles, open daily, and offers off-road vineyard tours at the estate. Additional consumer experiences include chef-led cooking classes, farm-to-table winemaker dinners, and off-site winemaker dinner events at partner restaurants.

ONX also operates a wine club program called The Collective, which provides members with two winemaker-selected shipments annually, significant discounts on wine orders, complimentary tastings and vineyard tours, early access to library wines, and preferential pricing on luxury vineyard lodging. The estate also maintains a small flock of sheep and goats that contribute to the working farm character of the property.

With two decades of estate farming, an organically certified vineyard, and a vertically integrated approach from farming through winemaking, ONX Wines represents a distinctive producer within the Paso Robles wine region, offering direct-to-consumer sales, hospitality experiences, and a broad portfolio of estate-grown varietals and blends.
