Nottoohotsauce

Not Too Hot Sauce is a small-batch hot sauce brand founded by sisters Melody and Angela Petulla, with roots in Miami, FL and Richmond, VA. The company was created to fill a gap in the hot sauce market: flavorful, exciting mild and medium heat options for consumers who love bold taste without intense spice. The brand's core philosophy centers on delivering maximum flavor with manageable heat levels, positioning itself as the champion of the often-overlooked mild hot sauce category.

All sauces are crafted in small batches using fresh ingredients, emphasizing quality and taste over heat intensity. The product lineup includes multiple flavor varieties, with offerings such as a buffalo-style sauce among others, all designed to deliver a well-balanced, mouthwatering experience. Every product in the line is free from gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, and palm oil, and contains no artificial colors, making the sauces accessible to consumers with a wide range of dietary restrictions and preferences.

Not Too Hot Sauce was born as a passion project when co-founder Melody set out to create the ideal hot sauce for her sister Angela, who cannot tolerate high heat levels. Recognizing the lack of variety and excitement in the mild condiment segment, the two sisters transformed their personal mission into a consumer brand dedicated to elevating mild hot sauce to the same level of enthusiasm and hype typically reserved for extra-hot products. Their combined backgrounds in business and marketing inform the brand's positioning and go-to-market strategy.

The brand targets everyday consumers, particularly those who enjoy flavorful condiments but are sensitive to capsaicin heat, as well as households where varying spice tolerances exist. Customer reviews consistently highlight the sauces' ability to enhance food without overpowering it, with noted appeal even among heat-tolerant consumers. Products are sold direct-to-consumer online, including multi-pack gift options, suggesting appeal as a specialty food gift item as well as a pantry staple.

Not Too Hot Sauce represents a growing niche within the specialty condiment space — flavor-forward, allergy-conscious, small-batch hot sauces designed for a broad consumer base that has historically been underserved by the heat-centric hot sauce industry.
