Mark Twain Brewing Company (MTBC) is a craft brewery that was formerly located in Hannibal, Missouri, the hometown of the famous American author Mark Twain. The company operated as a full-service brewery and restaurant, offering handcrafted beers and food services to both local patrons and tourists visiting the historic Mark Twain region. In May 2022, MTBC LLC made the strategic decision to sell its property and assets in Hannibal, but the company has not ceased operations entirely. Instead, they are currently in a transition phase, actively retooling their business model and researching new products and market opportunities. The company is also searching for a new location to establish their brewing operations, indicating their commitment to continuing in the craft beer industry. During their operational period in Hannibal, Mark Twain Brewing Company served the local community and tourists with a variety of craft beers, leveraging the historical significance and tourism appeal of their location. The brewery employed various staff members including head brewers, general managers, kitchen managers, servers, and event planners, demonstrating a comprehensive hospitality operation. Their business model combined brewing operations with restaurant services, creating a destination experience for visitors to the Mark Twain historic area. The company's current focus on retooling and market research suggests they are adapting to changing market conditions in the craft beer industry while maintaining their core brewing expertise and brand identity.
