About

LIBCo Beer is a Black-owned craft brewery based in Prince George's County, Maryland, operating under the brand concept of 'Liquid Intrusion' — a deliberate effort to disrupt and diversify the craft beer industry. Founded by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Jasmine Dill, LIBCo holds the distinction of being Prince George's County's first Black-owned brewery, a milestone of cultural and community significance given that the county is one of the most affluent and predominantly African-American counties in the United States.

The brewery was established during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the founders used the period of transition to pursue brewing full-time. Andrew Dill brought extensive professional experience in beer service, sales, distribution, and presentation — having previously served as a general manager at a Belgian-inspired beer bar — and applied that industry knowledge to the craft of brewing. The operation began on home-brew equipment originally gifted from the family of a U.S. Air Force veteran, and after positive reception from early testers, the founders committed to building a full commercial brewing enterprise. The team is rounded out by partner and Chief Financial Officer Michael Catudal.

LIBCo's core mission centers on increasing the representation of African-Americans in the craft brewing sector, where Black-owned breweries account for less than 1% of all breweries nationwide. By producing what they describe as 'legendary craft liquids,' the brewery seeks to celebrate African-American culture, challenge entrenched industry norms, and broaden access and inclusion within the craft beer world. Their branding and messaging are intentionally bold and culturally affirming, positioning each product as both a beverage and a statement of cultural reclamation.

As a small-batch, independent craft brewery, LIBCo produces a range of craft beers sold directly to consumers. The operation reflects a vertically integrated, owner-operated model typical of independent craft breweries, with both founders actively involved in day-to-day operations. Their target market spans beer enthusiasts of all backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on engaging communities that have historically been underrepresented in craft beer culture.

LIBCo is part of a growing movement of minority-owned craft breweries working to reshape the demographics and culture of the American brewing industry.
