Kahiltna Birchworks

Alaska Birch Syrup is a specialty food producer based in Alaska with over 30 years of experience crafting artisan birch syrup and a range of birch-infused confections and gourmet food products. The company is rooted in the wild, natural landscape of Alaska, harvesting birch tree sap during the cold spring season and evaporating it into distinctive, small-batch syrups that differ markedly in flavor profile from traditional maple syrup. Their core product line centers on pure wild-harvested birch syrup, offered in multiple seasonal runs — Reserve, Early, Mid, and Late — each reflecting the character of the sap at different points in the tapping season. The Reserve Pure Birch Syrup, crafted from the very first sap of the season, is the lightest and most limited expression, bottled in glass flasks. Beyond pure syrup, the company produces a Birch Breakfast Syrup blended with organic cane sugar, designed as a milder, more accessible option for a broader consumer base. The product portfolio extends well beyond syrup into a variety of birch-flavored specialty foods and confections. These include Alaska Gold Nugget Birch Cream Caramels — individually gold foil-wrapped candies rich with cream and pecans — Birch Almond Brittle, and a Birch Caramel Gourmet Ice Cream Topping. The company also produces wild-harvested fruit products, including Alaska Garnets Wild Lowbush Cranberry Sauce, a lingonberry sauce sweetened with birch syrup and accented with fresh ginger and orange zest. In addition to birch-based goods, the company sources and sells wild Alaska smoked salmon, purchased directly from Cook Inlet fishermen and processed by a local smokehouse, available in jars, cans, and vacuum packs. Gift packaging is a notable offering, with curated gift crates packaged in locally made cottonwood wood crates. The company operates a retail presence that functions as a destination experience, offering product tastings and educational insights into birch syrup processing. Products are available in multiple sizes and packaging formats — both plastic jugs and glass bottles — catering to everyday consumers and gift buyers alike. The brand emphasizes authentic Alaskan provenance, wild-harvested ingredients, and the craft tradition behind its production methods.
