Glissen Chemical Co

Glissen Chemical Company is a family-owned foodservice cleaning products manufacturer headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, operating continuously from the same plant since its founding in 1930 by Eugene and Annette Lehr. Now in its fourth generation of family leadership, the company has built a reputation as a leading detergent manufacturer serving the professional foodservice industry across all 50 U.S. states and the Caribbean. All products are manufactured in the United States using American-made ingredients.

The company's flagship brand, NU-FOAM®, is widely recognized in the bar and restaurant trade as the original bar glassware washing powder — known as the Hallmark of Quality. NU-FOAM® products include liquid, powder, packet, and sanitizing tablet formulations engineered specifically to ensure beer glasses retain head, dry without streaks or spots, and meet commercial sanitation standards. The sanitizing line includes EPA-registered products such as Nu-Foamicide detergent/sanitizer, sanitizing tablets with rinse-aid, and QT-10 test paper for two-sink and underbar glass washing systems.

Beyond glassware, Glissen Chemical offers a comprehensive catalog of commercial cleaning formulas organized across several categories. The Dish & Rinse line covers machine detergents, rinse aids, a low-temperature chlorinator, and a De-Limer for commercial glass and dish washers. The Kitchen line includes Blue Suds, Green Suds, and Pink Suds hand dishwashing detergents, degreasers, an ice machine cleaner, Foamuloso, stainless steel cleaner, and a back-of-house kit. The Beer Line category provides both acid and alkaline beer line cleaners for draft systems. A Flatware line offers pre-soak and silver dip products for utensil preparation before machine washing. Floor and griddle care is addressed through a no-rinse pH-neutral floor cleaner and a professional griddle cleaner. The company also manufactures brushes and accessories including triple glass washing brushes and spray bottles.

Pizza-Suds is the company's second flagship brand, a heavy-duty hand washing detergent formulated to cut grease quickly while remaining gentle on hands, targeted specifically at pizzerias and Italian kitchens. The Glissen Laundry line offers heavy-duty liquid and powder detergents designed to remove foodservice soils including fat, grease, and gravy from restaurant linens.

Products are distributed through wholesale and case-quantity orders direct from the Brooklyn plant, as well as through an active Amazon Brand Store. The company's Proper Pint Challenge program offers free NU-FOAM® samples to foodservice operators to demonstrate the impact of proper glassware cleaning on beer presentation, aroma, and barrel yield.
