Fiscalini Cheese Company is a fourth-generation family-owned dairy farm and artisan cheese making operation located in Modesto, California. Established as a dairy farm in 1914 by Swiss immigrant John Baptiste Fiscalini, the company began producing handcrafted artisan cheeses in 2000. The farmstead operates a state-of-the-art dairy facility housing 2,800 animals with 1,500 milking cows that are milked three times daily. Their cheese making facility is located on the same premises as their dairy operation, allowing them to use only milk from their own herd to achieve superior taste and quality. The company specializes in signature and artisan cheeses including their award-winning Bandage Wrapped Cheddar, which won Best Farmhouse Cheese in America in 2002, Purple Moon cheese, Habanero Cheddar, and Old World Cheddar. They serve the specialty food industry, restaurants, and direct-to-consumer markets through their online store. The operation spans 540 acres and includes sustainable farming practices with crop rotation of different forages consumed by their animals. The company has won numerous international awards including bronze medals from the International Cheese & Dairy Awards. Current leadership includes John Fiscalini and his children Laura Genasci and Brian Fiscalini, who both graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, continuing the family tradition of agricultural education. The company emphasizes sustainability, animal care, and traditional Swiss cheese-making techniques passed down through generations.
