Enegren Brewing

Enegren Brewing Company is an independently owned craft brewery located in Moorpark, California, in Ventura County. Founded in 2010 by brothers Chris and Matt Enegren and Joe Nascenzi, the company was born out of a passion for high-quality, German-inspired beer, with a particular emphasis on lager-style brewing. The founders began their brewing journey in dorm rooms at Loyola Marymount University, progressing from stovetop extract brewing to a custom-built 10-gallon all-grain system, and eventually scaling to a commercial 15-barrel brewery that opened in January 2015. This expansion increased production capacity by more than five times compared to the previous setup, with room for continued growth.

Enegren specializes in German and Bavarian beer styles, producing six year-round offerings: The Lightest One (a Munich-Style Helles), Lagertha (a Hoppy Pilsner dry-hopped with Mosaic), Schöner Tag (a Bavarian-Style Hefeweizen), Valkyrie (an Altbier/German-Style Amber Ale), an Enegren IPA, and Nighthawk (a Schwarzbier). In addition to its core lineup, the brewery produces a rotating selection of seasonal brews such as Oktoberfest (Bavarian-Style Märzen), Dunkel (Munich-Style Dark Lager), Edel Pils (German Noble Pilsner), and Foliage (an Autumn Lager), as well as numerous special releases and one-off beers that push the creative boundaries of lager craft brewing.

The brewery operates an on-site tasting room open seven days a week, offering guests direct access to its full tap list. Enegren also distributes its beers regionally throughout the Ventura County community and surrounding areas, making its products available beyond the taproom. The company hosts live events including live music, comedy performances, and food truck appearances, fostering a community-centric environment.

Enegren's brewing philosophy centers on consistency, quality, and the artistry of traditional German brewing techniques applied in a California craft context. The transition from homebrewing to a fully automated commercial brewing system reflects the founders' commitment to recipe repeatability and product integrity.
