Barker Brewhouse

Barker Brewhouse is a locally owned craft beer taphouse and nano-brewery located in Evansville, Indiana. Founded approximately five years ago out of a passion for craft beer, the business began as a home brewing operation in a barn under the name 'Hair of the Dog' before evolving into a full taphouse concept. The founders identified a gap in the Evansville market for quality craft beer venues during their travels, which led to the establishment of the current taproom.

As a nano-brewery, Barker Brewhouse produces its own small-batch specialty and seasonal beers in-house, typically offering between two and four proprietary draft beers at any given time. These original brews are rotated alongside an ever-changing lineup of guest craft and import beers, with domestic staples also available. In addition to draft beer, the taproom carries a broad selection of wines, ciders, seltzers, flavored malt beverages, sodas, and craft lemonades, catering to both beer enthusiasts and non-beer drinkers alike.

The taproom operates without a full kitchen, instead partnering with local restaurants for delivery options and regularly hosting local food trucks on-site. Prepackaged snack items from local vendors are also available for purchase. The venue is family-friendly, with a designated area for guests under 21 when accompanied by adults, and is also dog-friendly, welcoming well-behaved leashed pets. The brand mascot is a dog named Leo, and the business offers novelty items such as 'Barkuterie boards' for canine guests.

Barker Brewhouse serves as a community gathering space for events including live entertainment, fundraisers, games, and private celebrations. The taproom accommodates up to 33 vehicles in its private lot and operates on a first-come, first-served seating basis, with provisions for larger private party bookings. The venue is actively integrated into the local Evansville business community, collaborating with nearby restaurants, vendors, and organizations.
