Bare Beans Foods, Inc.

Bare Beans is a fresh produce and packaged bean brand founded in 2018 by CEO Michelle Huff, a veteran of the fresh produce industry with over 17 years of experience. Based in Idaho, the company grows and packages a line of ready-to-use fresh beans, offering consumers a convenient, clean-label alternative to canned beans. By leveraging the family's existing farming operations — led by fourth-generation farmer Robert Huff — the company bridges the gap between farm-fresh quality and everyday cooking convenience.

The product lineup includes a variety of bean types sold in 10-ounce portions, including Black Beans, Garbanzo Beans, Navy Beans, Pinto Beans, and Red Beans. Positioned as "scratch-made quality with more convenience than a can," Bare Beans eliminates the need for bulky cans, messy liquid, and excessive waste. The beans are grown on the company's own Idaho farms and delivered to retail with minimal processing, supporting the brand's commitment to clean, transparent labeling. Consumers are encouraged to add their own seasonings and ingredients, giving them full control over what goes into their meals.

A key differentiator for Bare Beans is its strict adherence to pesticide-free and non-GMO farming practices. The company pledges that all beans are grown and sourced without the use of pesticides or genetically engineered materials, aligning with the longstanding natural non-GMO status of dried beans in the U.S. The brand also uses in-store recyclable packaging, encouraging consumers to drop off clean, dry packaging at participating retail locations.

Bare Beans targets health-conscious consumers seeking minimally processed, farm-direct food options. The brand is distributed through retail grocery channels, supported by a store locator tool on its website. It has gained media recognition, including a featured appearance on The Produce Moms Podcast, reflecting its appeal within the fresh produce and better-for-you food segments.

The company is rooted in family heritage and Indigenous pride. Founder Michelle Huff is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, and both her sons are actively involved in both the farming and business operations. This family-farm-to-table story is central to the brand's identity and consumer messaging.
