Ammunition

Ammunition Wine & Whiskey is a premium spirits and wine brand based in Sonoma County, California, operating under the Daylight Wine + Spirits portfolio, described as one of America's fastest-growing independent companies. The brand produces a distinctive lineup of handcrafted Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys, straight rye whiskeys, and California wines sourced from world-class Northern California vineyards.

The whiskey portfolio includes a Cask Strength Bourbon, a Straight Bourbon Whiskey, and a Straight Rye Whiskey, all produced using traditional distilling methods rooted in American heritage. The bourbons and ryes are crafted from grains sourced across America, utilizing a proprietary mash bill of 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley for the bourbon expressions, and a 95% rye and 5% malted barley bill for the rye. The spirits are aged three to four years in freshly charred virgin Missouri American Oak barrels, hand-selected by a Master Blender, before undergoing a secondary finishing process in French Bordeaux and French Burgundy barrels previously used to mature the brand's own Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir wines. This cross-category finishing technique imparts layered fruit notes alongside subtle vanilla, chocolate, and mocha undertones, creating a distinctive West Coast-influenced style within the Kentucky straight whiskey tradition.

On the wine side, Ammunition sources grapes from premium coastal growing regions in Sonoma County, including the Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, Sonoma Mountain, and Alexander Valley. The wine portfolio features a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter blended with minority varietals such as Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The wines are noted for their full flavor, tannin structure, and balance, reflecting the unique micro-climates and terroir of their coastal vineyard origins.

The brand's identity is rooted in a narrative of American heritage, honoring the farmers and growers who supply its core ingredients. Founded by two partners with a shared appreciation for the land, Ammunition positions itself as a tribute to the American spirit, bridging Kentucky bourbon tradition with California winemaking craft. The dual-region footprint — Kentucky for distilling and Sonoma County for winemaking — is central to the brand's differentiation in the premium spirits and wine marketplace. The brand also markets cocktail recipes built around its whiskey expressions, targeting on-premise and at-home consumption occasions.
