Alexander's Elixirs & Essentials

Alexander's Elixirs is a California-based specialty beverage ingredient company that produces The Original Cocktail Foamer, a plant-based, allergen-free foaming agent designed for professional bartenders and home mixologists. Founded and formulated by a working bartender, the company developed its flagship product as a direct response to the practical limitations of traditional cocktail foam solutions, including raw egg whites, aquafaba, and synthetic foaming agents. Every batch is hand-crafted in the company's California lab using a proprietary process that includes vacuum degassing at 500 mbar, pH buffering to 4.1, and filtration through activated charcoal to ensure complete flavor neutrality.

The Original Cocktail Foamer is a 100 mL dropper-bottle product that delivers approximately 100 cocktails per bottle at a full dropper dose, or up to 200 at a half dropper. It is carried in a 40% food-grade alcohol base, making it fully shelf-stable without refrigeration — a significant operational advantage for bars and restaurants that must manage perishable inventory. The formulation contains no egg, dairy, nuts, soy, or gluten, making it suitable for vegan consumers and those with common food allergies. Its plant-based foaming agent, combined with plant-derived stabilizers and a natural emulsifier, produces a dense, pearl-white foam crown that rises and holds without off-flavors or aromas.

The product is positioned primarily for the on-premise bar and restaurant channel, with wholesale and case pricing available for commercial accounts. It is currently poured at several named bars and restaurants including The ArBaretum, The Club Room, and Bar Issi, and is sold through specialty retail outlets such as Napastak (Napa Valley and Palm Desert) and Collins & Coupe. The company ships directly to consumers across the United States with free shipping on every order.

Alexander's Elixirs competes directly against egg white and aquafaba on the axes of consistency, shelf life, allergen profile, and flavor neutrality. At approximately 30 cents per cocktail, the product is cost-competitive with egg white and eliminates the prep labor and food-safety considerations associated with raw egg handling. The charcoal filtration step is a key differentiator, ensuring the foamer adds texture without contributing any flavor of its own, so the underlying cocktail profile remains unaltered. The product works across a wide range of classic cocktail formats including whiskey, pisco, and amaretto sours, gin fizzes, Ramos gin fizz, Clover Clubs, espresso martinis, daiquiris, and margaritas.
