Delaware Valley Drinks

Green Drinks International is an informal, self-organising networking network rather than a beverage producer or supplier. Every month, people who work in the environmental field meet up at unstructured sessions known as Green Drinks, bringing together a mixture of attendees from environmental groups, academia, government and business. The gatherings are deliberately simple and unprogrammed: newcomers are welcomed and introduced to whoever is present, and because everyone is encouraged to invite someone else along, the crowd differs from month to month. The organisation describes the format as a practical way for people to keep in touch with existing contacts and to make new ones, and notes that attendees have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas and done deals through the meetings. The stated goal is to help the format spread to additional cities. The website functions primarily as a global directory, listing local chapters city by city and linking visitors to the group nearest to them. Coverage spans roughly two dozen countries, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam. Canadian and Ontario listings are extensive, the United Kingdom section covers cities from Belfast and Bristol to London, Oxford and Liverpool, and the United States section runs to more than fifty cities across some thirty states plus Washington, DC, including Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There is no product line, manufacturing operation, packaging, or wholesale activity described anywhere on the site. Despite the name, the organisation's output is meetings and local chapter coordination for the environmental sector.
