The flavored light beer brand welcomes Peggy to the team as it expands into 15 new states and major retailers, reformulates its lineup to 95 calories
LOS ANGELES, October 14, 2026 – Hurray's GIRL BEER, the humor-led flavored light beer brand leading a new wave of beer built for the next generation of drinkers, today announced that, along with some really good news, they've made potentially a major mistake.
In an effort to find the best intern ever, they pursued Peggy, an 80-year-old ex-meatpacker and hyper-locally-renowned Bridge player who has always dreamed of working for a startup brand, especially one in beverage. In her words, "a brand that has some real gizmo. Ya know, some moxie." …Sure, Peggy.
The brand has announced her new role as "intern" with a series of online social content that has been trickling out on the Girl Beer Instagram this month. The content is a series of ~five (5) spots, with the next set to air the week of 10/12. Other spots include a :30 around the brand’s recent partnership with the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, who became an official partner this summer, a spot around the brand’s entrance into the Minnesota market, as well as a consumer call to action to create an official Girl Beer jingle.
The content was shot by Eli Walker and produced and written by Timothy Thatcher. Shot single-camera in a mockumentary style, the series captures the absurdity of intern duties and the mundane realities of corporate office life, even at a place as cool and start-uppy as Hurray's Girl Beer.
Here’s some more good news. And Girl Beer happens to love good news (no, Connor, no good news for you... you're still dead to us).
Content isn't the only thing evolving for the brand. Just this month, Girl Beer expanded its footprint into 15 new states, landing on shelves at major retailers like Walmart, Whole Foods, Kroger, Albertsons, Hy-Vee and Cub Foods. The brand has also made a slight adjustment to the beer itself, bringing calories down from 100 to 95 while keeping the same great, ideal flavored light lager profile.
