Athlete-founded brand debuts a ready-to-drink formula built for demanding training and competition

HOUSTON, September 10, 2026 — 2O3, a new performance hydration brand founded by record-holding powerlifter Johnny Kaufman and consumer-products entrepreneur Nelson Cury, today announced that its first ready-to-drink beverage is now available. The beverage combines 1,000 mg of sodium, 340 mg of potassium, and 60 mg of magnesium with honey to support faster hydration and provide both readily available and sustained energy.

2O3 was created around the belief that a complete hydration system should provide the primary electrolytes lost through sweat together with glucose, which supports the absorption of sodium and water. The founders saw a gap in the market for a product that delivered both in meaningful amounts from natural sources.

The 16-ounce, non-carbonated beverage comes in two flavors, Hydro-Lime and Orange Mango, and is made with real fruit. It contains no processed sugars or artificial sweeteners and is designed for use around demanding training and competition.

The idea originated from Kaufman’s experience in strength sports, where athletes have long used honey and electrolytes together in informal combinations. Kaufman and Cury developed 2O3 to bring that approach into a consistent and convenient product.

2O3 was built in partnership with the strength community it will serve first. Its founding athlete team includes Kaufman alongside Jamal Browner, Austin Perkins, Rondel Hunte, and Sean Mills. The athletes have helped shape the brand around the needs and experiences of people training and competing at a high level.

“I’ve always studied record holders and emulated the habits that helped them reach the top,” said Kaufman. “Honey and electrolytes became constants in my own training, but getting everything I needed meant piecing it together myself. We built 2O3 so athletes wouldn’t have to.”

The ready-to-drink beverage is the first format from 2O3. The company has also spent the past three years developing a stable powdered form of honey and plans to use it to expand the 2O3 hydration system into other form factors.

“The conversation around sugar has become too binary,” said Cury, whose family has produced sugar in Brazil for four generations. “Performance products often remove it entirely without considering what they may be giving up. With 2O3, we want to explore the many ways honey can be used in modern performance nutrition. That means using carbohydrates purposefully, without relying on processed sugars or artificial sweeteners. This beverage is only the first expression of that idea.”

2O3 hosted its official launch event in Houston on September 5. Its RTDs are available at 2o3.com and in select gyms around the country.
