Startup Blueprint Program provides emerging beverage brands valuable access to pilot-scale aseptic production, technical data, and commercial-ready product samples.
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK – The UltraPhil Center for Aseptic Excellence, the only small-scale, bottle-based aseptic R&D and pilot production center in the world, has announced a new commercialization support program designed to help beverage entrepreneurs and early-stage companies bridge one of the most challenging gaps in the product commercialization process – demonstrating that a formulation is ready for full-scale production.
Participation in the UltraPhil Startup Blueprint Program is by application and is intended to provide qualifying startups with industry support to produce pilot-scale aseptic beverage runs at UltraPhil’s state-of-the-art, Rochester, New York-based facility. The initiative is intended to help promising beverage concepts generate the technical validation and production samples needed to secure partnerships with contract manufacturers, attract outside investment, generate retailer interest, and confidently move toward commercialization.
“One of the biggest obstacles facing beverage startups isn’t having a great idea – it’s proving that their product is ready for commercial production,” said John Eaton, Managing Director of the UltraPhil Center. “This program gives entrepreneurs an opportunity to generate the production data, processing parameters, and FDA-validated product samples they need to demonstrate that their formulation is commercially viable before approaching investors, co-manufacturers, or retailers.”
UltraPhil enables manufacturers – from start-ups to emerging brands and global producers – to develop, test, and refine products in a fully FDA-validated, commercially licensed environment that seamlessly scales to commercial aseptic beverage processes. This includes fluid milk, protein, coffee, tea, juice, and everything in between.
Through the UltraPhil Startup Blueprint Program, participating companies can perfect their beverage formulations and produce shelf-stable beverage samples while collecting valuable production information, including processing parameters and stability data. The samples can also be used for sensory and analytical testing, consumer testing, sales samples, trade show giveaways, investor meetings, and evaluations by prospective manufacturing partners.
Compared to pursuing a full-scale commercial production trial, the UltraPhil program provides startups with a significantly more accessible and cost-effective path to validating their products while reducing technical uncertainty before scaling production.
“Our goal is to help innovative beverage companies enter conversations with co-manufacturers from a position of strength,” Eaton added. “When startups can present validated processing data, commercial-ready samples, and documented production results, they’re no longer just pitching an idea – they’re presenting a product that’s been successfully demonstrated in an aseptic production environment.”
The Startup Blueprint Program is application-based, with participation limited to qualifying beverage startups. Applicants will be evaluated based on the strength of their product concept, commercialization objectives, and readiness to participate in the program.
Beverage startups interested in participating in the Startup Blueprint Program are encouraged to apply by August 31, 2026, for consideration in Cycle One. For eligibility requirements and application information, visit the UltraPhil website at ultraphil.com.
