Rockstar Energy just announced the full programming for the third annual Rockstar Energy Open, returning to Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland August 14–16, 2026. Free and open to the public, the three-day festival brings together the world's best skateboarders, emerging artists, live music, art, food and fan experiences for a weekend where skateboarding, music and culture collide at full volume.

Building on Rockstar Energy's deep-rooted connection to skateboarding, the 2026 event features elite Men's and Women's Street and Park competitions alongside a free waterfront concert series, interactive festival activations and a celebration of the culture that continues to shape the next generation of skateboarding.

The weekend's music programming features two nights of free concerts immediately following Friday and Saturday's skateboarding competitions. Friday, August 14, Toronto punk favorites PUP open the evening before emo powerhouse Hot Mulligan headlines. Saturday, August 15, Baltimore hardcore standouts Angel Du$t kick off the night before acclaimed UK rock band Basement closes the concert series.

“Rockstar Energy has always been rooted in culture—it doesn't chase trends,” said Steve Mateus, Senior Director of Sports and Music at Rockstar Energy. “The bands playing this year's Rockstar Energy Open are writing the soundtrack for a new generation, and that's exactly where we want to be. Skateboarding has always evolved alongside music, and artists like Basement, Hot Mulligan, Angel Du$t and PUP represent the energy, authenticity and creativity that continue to push both cultures forward.”

“Subculture is everything to us. The relationship between music and skating continues to be as important as ever. We are really looking forward to playing the Rockstar Energy Open. See you this summer,” said Andrew Fisher of Basement.

Now in its third year, the Rockstar Energy Open continues to unite the next generation of skateboarding talent with established legends through a format designed to celebrate progression, creativity and community.

A defining feature of the event is the Video Qualifying Series (VQS), an innovative qualification pathway that invites skateboarders worldwide to submit video parts for the chance to earn a coveted spot in Portland. The VQS creates a rare opportunity for rising skaters to compete alongside some of the sport's biggest names.

More than 50 top skateboarders from around the globe are expected to compete, including Rockstar Energy athletes Keegan Palmer, Paige Heyn, Chris Joslin and inaugural Men's Street champion Lazer Crawford, along with many Olympic and X Games medalists such as Tom Schaar and Sky Brown.

“The VQS gives up-and-coming skaters a real shot,” said Lazer Crawford. “It's not just another contest—you can come from anywhere, put your part out there, and suddenly you're skating against the best in the world. That's pretty epic.”

Beyond the competition and concerts, fans can explore a vibrant festival village featuring local skate shops, food vendors, exclusive merchandise, interactive sponsor activations, art installations and beverage experiences, creating a festival atmosphere that extends well beyond the skate course.

“From the skaters to the music to the city itself, this weekend is about going big, showcasing the heart of skateboarding and celebrating summer with music, competition and community,” said Kemp Curley, Managing Partner, C375. “Portland has embraced our event in an incredible way, and we're excited to return for year three with an even bigger vision. The addition of these incredible artists further reinforces what makes the Rockstar Energy Open such a special experience.”

All competitions will be livestreamed globally and free on The Platfrm, giving fans around the world a front-row seat to every run. The Rockstar Energy Open is free to attend, with VIP upgrade options available for fans looking to elevate their on-site experience.
