W.K. Reed

W.K. Reed is a California-based craft whiskey distillery that produces premium whiskey made from a traditional bourbon mash bill. The company creates versatile whiskey specifically blended for cocktails, positioning itself as a workhorse spirit for any saloon. W.K. Reed whiskey features a rich dark amber color with light and sweet notes on the nose, toasted oak with hints of vanilla on the palate, and a delightfully smoky aftertaste. The brand draws inspiration from W.K. Reed, a little-known California copper legend who founded the town of Copperopolis in 1860, which hosted notable characters from stagecoach robber Black Bart to electricity pioneer Nikola Tesla. The company emphasizes the engineering and craftsmanship behind their product, comparing their whiskey creation to the advancement of copper technology. W.K. Reed whiskey is designed to be as versatile as copper itself, making it suitable for various cocktail applications including the Miner's Mule, Old Fashioned, and Boulevardier. The distillery focuses on creating a premium California whiskey that bridges the gap between bourbon and whiskey traditions, offering consumers a unique drinking experience that honors both craftsmanship and historical legacy. Their products are available through their official retailer and they maintain an active presence in the craft spirits market.
