A Texas seasoning and rub manufacturer specializing in all-natural low and no sodium blends for smoking, grilling, baking and frying. The company was founded out of personal necessity: after several heart attacks and open-heart surgery its founder was told to cut salt from his diet, and having grilled and smoked food since childhood he could not find low-sodium rubs that still tasted good, so he developed his own. Four low-sodium seasonings and rubs launched in 2020, and the range has since expanded, with the Original Texas Rub in a 4 oz jar identified as the flagship blend that established the brand. Products are all-natural with no additives or preservatives, low in sodium, vegan and gluten free, and are made with ingredients largely sourced in Texas, which qualifies the company for Go Texan membership; one featured local input is Black Gold Garlic made in San Antonio. The rubs are formulated to enhance meats, fish, vegetables and even eggs rather than to mask them, and are marketed as versatile enough for barbecue, smoking and everyday cooking, with vegan customers using them on vegetables. Strict quality control procedures are cited as the basis of product consistency. Retail selling began at San Antonio farmers markets in November 2020, and the company also sells direct through its own online store alongside branded merchandise, with stated ambitions to reach H-E-B stores and wider distribution across Texas and nationally. Individual jars are priced around eleven dollars.
