Parallel Brewery Collective is a collaborative initiative that unites the strengths and expertise of multiple Iowa-based craft beverage producers to enhance growth potential and drive strategic innovation. The collective includes four distinct brands: Backpocket Brewing (Coralville), SingleSpeed Brewing (Waterloo), Five Cities Brewing (Bettendorf), and Mississippi River Distilling Company (Le Claire). Together, they operate 7 taprooms, 6 manufacturing locations, and 2 tasting rooms across Iowa. Backpocket Brewing, an award-winning brewery located in Iowa River Landing, distributes across all 99 counties in Iowa and has expanded into Illinois markets. SingleSpeed Brewing, founded in 2012, operates three breweries/taprooms and has produced nationally decorated beers including Ring Around the Gose (World Beer Cup Bronze 2018, GABF Gold 2021) and Tip the Calf (multiple GABF medals 2020-2023). Five Cities Brewing, established in 2018, specializes in meticulously crafted aromatic beers with their flagship Bikini Bottom Pineapple Wheat, distributing across Iowa and Western Illinois. Mississippi River Distilling Company produces small-batch, handcrafted spirits including whiskeys, gin, vodka, and liqueurs, sourcing local ingredients and operating facilities in Le Claire and Davenport. The collective represents a strategic approach to craft beverage production, focusing on collaboration, efficiency, and regional expansion while maintaining each brand's independent ownership and operation. Their mission emphasizes working smarter through collective collaboration to achieve individual and collective success in shaping the future of brewing and distilling in Iowa and beyond.
