parentheses is a botanical spirit duo with two artisanally crafted expressions called Before and After. These slow-sipping, small-batch spirits are handmade in Brooklyn by entrepreneurs who fell in love (and got married!) after bonding over their sobriety. Tawny is a journalist who has covered the sober curious/mindful drinking movement since 2015 and Nick is a sommelier who quit drinking then started making wine into vinegar. Both founders wanted caffeine-free, non-alcoholic options that weren’t loaded with sugar or fizz. Nick developed a recipe for seaweed vinegar, which is now used for (parentheses) unique botanical extraction process. Before is a bitter tonic that uses herbs to stimulate the senses, preparing the palate for a meal. Featured herbs include gentian, ashwagandha, and prickly ash with complimentary notes of cardamom, citrus, and rose. After offers a smokey, woodsy flavor profile with herbs traditionally used to calm the mind and aid digestion. Featured herbs include angelica, lavender, and chamomile with added notes of wood and a slight smokiness from cherry bark, marshmallow root, and black cardamom.'
