Kosmo's Q

Kosmos Q is a specialty barbecue products company founded in 2009 by Kosmo, who started the business from a linen closet with $500 and a passion for competition-level BBQ. Headquartered with roots in Oklahoma, the company has grown from selling a single product — the Original Beef Brisket Injection — into a full lineup of more than 30 award-winning barbecue products shipped to grilling enthusiasts and competition teams worldwide. Kosmos Q serves both backyard BBQ enthusiasts and serious competition pitmasters, positioning itself as a trusted source for competition-grade flavoring solutions that have contributed to multiple world championship titles. The company's products have been used by teams that have won five world championships across various sanctioned BBQ competitions, including the 2015 World Steak Championship and the 2015 World BBQ Championship. The product portfolio spans a wide range of BBQ-focused categories including dry rubs, injections, marinades, glazes, brines and soaks, sauces, wing dusts, salsas, and snack products. These items are sold under the Kosmos Q brand and are organized for retail both by product type and by protein category — covering beef, chicken, pork, ribs, brisket, burgers, turkey, seafood, wild game, and other proteins. The company also offers bundled gift sets and curated kits such as the Pit Master Gift Basket, Holiday Ham Kit, and Prime Rib Kit, targeting both individual consumers and gifting occasions. Kosmos Q operates a subscription-based community called The Kosmos Q Lab, launched in 2022, which gives members early access to experimental rub blends and exclusive flavors not available in the standard retail lineup. This community has grown to over 16,000 members and is supported by an active Facebook group. The brand sponsors multiple competition BBQ teams annually, including Compete BBQ, Red Mule's Bad Ass BBQ, and Smoke Bro BBQ, reinforcing its credibility within the professional competition circuit. In addition to physical products, Kosmos Q provides educational content including recipes and instructional videos, helping customers improve their BBQ skills. The company has experienced significant growth, nearly doubling in size following its championship wins, and continues to expand its direct-to-consumer e-commerce channel alongside broader retail distribution through various partner outlets.
