Fromagerie La Station inc. is a certified organic farmhouse cheese producer located in Compton, Quebec, in the Eastern Townships (Cantons de l'Est). Established in 1928 and now in its fourth generation of family ownership, the company specializes in manufacturing artisanal cheeses using raw and thermized milk from their own organic dairy farm. The Bolduc family has been operating on Chemin Hatley since 1928, transitioning to organic agriculture in 1995 and launching their cheese-making operation in 2004. The company produces a variety of firm and semi-firm cheeses, including their award-winning Raclette de Compton au Poivre, which has gained international recognition including winning top honors at the American Cheese Society competition. Their operation includes organic pastures where happy cows graze freely, producing milk free from pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs. The facility features modern aging rooms with robotic aging systems installed in 2019-2020, and a new free-stall barn constructed in 2020-2021. The family business combines traditional cheese-making techniques with sustainable organic farming practices, also operating a maple syrup production (érablière) and offering agrotourism experiences.
