Far West Cider Co

Far West Cider is a California-based craft cider producer rooted in a fourth-generation family farming tradition in San Joaquin County. The company distinguishes itself through complete vertical integration — from growing and harvesting fruit on its own century-old ranch to pressing, fermenting, cellaring, and bottling its ciders at its waterfront cidery located in Richmond, California. This farm-to-bottle approach gives Far West Cider direct control over ingredient quality and the full production process, a rarity in the craft beverage industry.

The company's primary product line consists of hard ciders crafted exclusively from apples grown on its family farm. In addition to traditional apple ciders, Far West Cider incorporates other estate-grown and locally sourced fruits such as cherries, pluots, and citrus into seasonal and specialty offerings, expanding its portfolio beyond conventional cider styles. This fruit-forward variety reflects both the agricultural diversity of the San Joaquin Valley and the cidery's commitment to showcasing regional ingredients.

Far West Cider's distribution footprint spans the San Francisco Bay Area and broader Northern California market, reaching from Santa Cruz to Napa County. Its products are available at a curated selection of bars, restaurants, and retail outlets recognized for quality craft beverage selections. Beyond on-premise and retail channels, the company operates direct-to-consumer sales through its online shop and participates in local farmers' markets, reinforcing its connection to the regional food and agriculture community.

The company also serves the corporate gifting market, offering curated cider packages suitable for business clients and events — a channel that speaks to its positioning as a premium, gift-worthy craft beverage brand. Its CiderBox program further supports direct consumer engagement, likely functioning as a subscription or curated selection offering.

As a vertically integrated, estate-based craft cidery with deep agricultural roots and a regional distribution presence, Far West Cider occupies a distinct niche within the competitive California craft beverage landscape, appealing to consumers and buyers who prioritize provenance, craftsmanship, and locally grown ingredients.
