Familia Torres is a fifth-generation family-owned Spanish wine and spirits producer with roots in the Penedès wine-growing tradition dating back to the 16th century. The company formally established its winery in Vilafranca del Penedès in 1870, and over more than 150 years has grown into one of Spain's most internationally recognized producers of fine wines, brandy, and premium distilled spirits. Each generation has built upon a dual commitment to honoring viticultural heritage while embracing innovation in winemaking and vineyard management.

The company's portfolio centers on wines from singular vineyards and historic estates, with a strong emphasis on the recovery of ancestral grape varieties and the practice of regenerative viticulture. Its primary operations are concentrated in Catalonia, spanning the appellations of Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, and Costers del Segre — regions where its historic estates benefit from exceptional geoclimate conditions that allow grapes to reach their fullest expression. Beyond Catalonia, Familia Torres holds vineyards and winery operations across Spain's most prestigious wine regions, including Rioja (Rioja Alavesa, under the La Carbonera project), Ribera del Duero and Rueda (through the Pago del Cielo project), and Rías Baixas (Torre Penelas, a historic Galician pazo estate with innovative granite fermentation vessels). International operations extend to Chile and California, reflecting the brand's global geographic footprint.

In addition to still wines, the company produces high-end sparkling wines under the Vardon Kennett label, crafted from high-altitude estate vineyards in the Penedès. The Juan Torres Master Distillers division handles the production of internationally acclaimed brandies and premium distilled spirits, maintaining the same quality standards applied across the broader portfolio.

Familia Torres has received consistent critical recognition, with wines scoring 91–95 points from publications such as James Suckling, Wine Enthusiast, and Decanter, as well as top awards from Spanish competitions including Premis Vinari. The company is a member of Primum Familiae Vini, an elite consortium of leading family wine estates, and serves as a cofounding member of International Wineries for Climate Action and the Asociación de Viticultura Regenerativa. Since 2008, climate action has been a core operational pillar, with active adaptation and mitigation programs aimed at reducing CO2 emissions across its global estate portfolio.
