Crosby’s Molasses

Crosby Foods Limited is a fifth-generation, family-owned Canadian food company with roots dating back to 1879, making it one of the country's most enduring and trusted food manufacturers. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has built its reputation over nearly 150 years on the production and distribution of high-quality molasses products for Canadian consumers and beyond. The company's flagship brand, Crosby's Molasses, is a household name in Canada and encompasses three core product lines: Fancy Molasses, Blackstrap Molasses, and Cooking Molasses. Crosby's Fancy Molasses is the highest-grade molasses available, classified as a Standard of Identity product by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). It is single-origin, sourced exclusively from the Madre Tierra sugar mill in Santa Lucia, Guatemala, where sugarcane is grown in volcanic soils and processed into pure sugarcane juice that is condensed, inverted, and purified. The Fancy Molasses is 100% natural, non-GMO certified, unsulphured, and contains no additives or preservatives, making it suitable for a wide range of baking and cooking applications including cookies, cakes, breads, and gingerbread. Crosby's Blackstrap Molasses is a highly concentrated, nutrient-dense product naturally rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, commonly used in barbeque sauces, baked beans, stews, and marinades. The Cooking Molasses is a proprietary blend of the company's blackstrap and fancy molasses, offering a robust, full-flavoured profile ideal for baking and hearty savory dishes. All products are 100% natural and free from additives and preservatives. Products are available in a range of retail package sizes from 300g to 5kg, catering to both everyday consumers and higher-volume home or foodservice users. The company sources its molasses directly from a single sugar mill and ships it via ocean freighter to ensure food safety, supply chain integrity, and reduced environmental impact. Crosby Foods operates a large production facility and maintains an active presence in the Greater Saint John community, with longstanding contributions to the United Way. The company complies with all applicable Canadian food regulations and continually refines its environmental management practices through a dedicated internal environmental committee.
