Colavita

Colavita is a family-owned importer and distributor of premium Italian specialty food products, headquartered in Edison, NJ, with U.S. operations also in Dixon, CA. Founded on generational Italian heritage tracing back to the hilltop village of Sant'Elia a Pianisi in the Molise region of Italy, the company has been bringing authentic Italian products to the American market since 1979. The Colavita family legacy is rooted in two distinct but intertwined traditions: the production of extra virgin olive oil through stone-milled olive pressing, and the milling of durum wheat semolina for pasta production. These two businesses eventually merged under the Colavita family brand, which now operates internationally with production facilities in Molise and Pomezia (Rome), Italy, serving as the group's global headquarters.

Colavita's core product portfolio spans several key Italian pantry staples. Its olive oil line — the flagship product — is crafted from olives harvested at peak maturity and immediately cold-pressed to preserve flavor and nutritional quality. The pasta range is produced from 100% durum wheat semolina, using certified mountain spring water sourced from the Molise region. Beyond these signature offerings, the company distributes a comprehensive selection of balsamic and wine vinegars, traditional and organic pasta sauces, marinated vegetables and spreads, ready-to-serve soups, canned tomatoes, beans, and grains.

The brand serves a broad range of consumer and professional segments, including home cooks, restaurant chefs, and professional kitchen operators. Its products are positioned as authentic, high-quality Italian ingredients aligned with Mediterranean Diet principles, making them appealing to health-conscious consumers as well as culinary professionals seeking reliable, consistently tested ingredients.

All Colavita products undergo continuous quality testing to ensure consistency and authenticity across its global distribution network. The company's international reach and longstanding reputation have established it as a benchmark for Italian food quality in worldwide markets. With decades of import and distribution experience, Colavita maintains a trusted presence in both retail and foodservice channels across the United States and internationally.
